Methods of Prohormone Delivery

Prohormones have different forms and can be administered in a variety of ways. Oral, transdermal and sublingual are the most common methods. Of these methods oral is easiest to perform but has been observed to give some problems. It has the lowest bioavailability and the chance of liver toxicity is high. Moreover, it also needs 3-4 times daily doses since it keeps blood pressure high for a few hours.

Sublingual delivery is enhanced by the use Cyclodextrins and is by far more effective than oral delivery method. However, for those seeking maximum effectiveness, the method of delivery recommended is transdermal. This delivery method releases pro-hormones of high bioavailability for 12 sustained hours.

Stacking, the common term referring to the use of more than one pro hormone at a time has some advantages since many complement each other. For example, the combination of 4AD and 19-nordiol are used to treat decreasing sexual interest or libido. Other common combinations or stacks are 1-test or 1AD and 4AD.

To avoid irritation resulting from administration, application areas should be rotated daily, thoroughly cleaned and if possible shaved. Pro hormones can be delivered by injection but there is scarcity of literature on this. Before attempting this method a trained medical personnel must be consulted or present.
